This guy had the right idea today, and while my day involved mostly meetings I was able to rest a bit with him and listen to some talks for my #AcademicRunPlaylist!

First was an interesting talk by Luca Sicignano on the imposed bargain in modern restructuring law at the Cambridge Faculty of Law https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8PtbYKEo0XQ

Next was an engaging session on impact measurement in market settings at the Saïd Business School with Karim Harji and Emilie Goodall https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8Jjj68HZ7zw

Next was a compelling talk by Hans Steinmüller on relating social complexity with the micro-phenomenon of complicity at the LSE https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=j49GergNIoc

Next was an excellent talk by Maximilian Kasy on how the very human forces shaping the development of generative AI and who benefits from its current trajectory at the Oxford Martin School https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Lm9wWiOQ5Y0

Next was a fantastic talk by Sanmi Koyejo on distribution shift lessons for federated learning at the Simons Institute for the Theory of Computing. Koyejo shows once again why he's one of the top thinkers in the field, methodically laying out the statistical traps the AI field continues to fall into and how to grapple with these issues. Highly recommend https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=G9ye9wyEu34

Next was a great talk by Gauri Joshi on federated LLM fine tuning at the Simons Institute https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Puf4lYXus30

Last was an intriguing talk by Edwige Cyffers on the privacy of decentralized machine learning at the Simons Institute https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Vs906jtd6tw
