#AcademicRunPlaylist - 3/4/25

A frozen pond on a bright, clear day. A bare tree stretches over the near bank, with some of it's branches engulfed by the pond's ice. Forest lines the far bank.

It was lovely out in Boston today, and while enjoying the weather I also caught a bunch of talks for my #AcademicRunPlaylist!

First was a great conversation with David Autor on how AI may influence the economics of work on the MIT Sloan Management Review podcast https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IkXF-iY6V0Y

Next was a sobering discussion with Tommaso Valletti on why competition policy is dead at the Digital Markets Research Hub https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=e7Unsy3jgbA

Next was an interesting talk by Zih-Yun Chiu on developing robots for autonomous medical interventions at CU Boulder https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WNYogszT_gE

Last was the New York University School of Law conference on the 25th anniversary of the Microsoft browser antitrust decision. The refusal of the Chicago school folks to acknowledge the abject failure of their approach here is disappointing, but the last panel has some excellent review by Eleanor Fox, Erika Douglas, and Thomas Höppner
