This is a pic from last week, but while waiting around tending to a family medical issue I was still able to listen to some talks for my #AcademicRunPlaylist

First was the 2nd workshop on large models at #CVPR2024, with notable talks by Yue Fan (toward a diffusion-based generalist for dense vision tasks) and Hao Su (generative and understanding 3D objects in an open world) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UbsRsFkXs8M

Next was a fantastic discussion between Ann Lipton and Michael Levin on the recent Tesla shareholder vote around Elon Musk's compensation and the related court case as well as universal proxies in 2024 on the Shareholder Primacy podcast. The Tesla case has important implications for corporate governance, and Lipton expertly examines them here, while universal proxies provide an interesting mechanism for reforming annual meetings and board elections. Highly recommend https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=k5q3XMrv3aI

Last was an interesting talk by Greg Slabaugh on building multimodal AI applications in healthcare at CVPR https://youtu.be/5uPeZtFx7P4?si=3fgBAXZkGHn-WHBK&t=13195
