A rusted out car from around the 1940s inexplicably in the middle of the woods

It's been a hectic week, but after finding this rusted out ~80 year old car inexplicably in the middle of the woods I was able to get in a few talks for my #AcademicRunPlaylist!

First was a fascinating talk by Sean Vanatta on the history of credit cards and how they evolved from a barely-regulated patchwork of state-based products into their modern form at the Hagley Museum and Library https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UoPTG-cLIBw

Next was an excellent conversation with Debraj Rayand and Garance Genicot on the challenge and importance of measuring upward mobility in mid/low income countries and the centrality of overall growth in driving it on the VoxDev podcast https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=J4x1a9XYU9w

Last was an engaging talk by Ivo Greevink on the influence of LLM use of trust and trustworthiness (spoiler alert: it's not good) at the Max Planck Institute for Human Development https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nWum1d4Tduk
