#AcademicRunPlaylist - 8/17/24
I had a great time in the UK, and before heading home I was able to see the last Banksy in his recent series! On the plane I was also able to catch a lot of talks for my #AcademicRunPlaylist!
First was a great panel on the tension between copyright and creativity at the New York University School of Law with Jörg Tittel, Christopher Sprigman, and Barton Beebe. This is from almost 10 years ago so doesn't go over recent cases, but still provides nice background and framing for a still thorny problem https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UpBFMkrV9Dg
Next was an interesting panel on the impact of EU AI regulation on Latin American AI governance at FGV - Fundação Getulio Vargas with Lucas Borges de Carvalho, Bárbara Lazarotto, Pedro Bastos Lobo Martins, Alberto Cerda Silva, Filipe Medon, and Ine van Zeeland https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oHDIj2AjVoI
Next was an engaging panel on the implications of AI for work at the Academy of Management with Margaret Heffernan., Matt Beane, Leon C. Prieto, and Hila Lifshitz Assaf https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QMtdR8vZZzo
Next was an intriguing panel on AI and data protection regulation in the G20 and BRICS at FGV with Tainá Aguiar Junquilho, Danil Kerimi, Sizwe Lindelo Snail ka Mtuze, Aifang MA, Thomas Lohninger, Jai Vipra, and Luca Belli https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=E9KJNRq4RFU
Next was an excellent talk by Kevin Crowston on open source development and collaboration at Stanford University https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fNmY4Xv-HHw
Last was an informative panel on data sharing restrictions from a Global South perspective at FGV with Andres Calderon Lopez, Meghna Bal, Isabella Aragão, and Juliano Maranhão https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=E7OJev8Rak0
