#AcademicRunPlaylist - 7/21/24
I had a bit of time to go out for a run today, which I enjoyed while listening to talks for my #AcademicRunPlaylist!
First was the fantastic National Bureau of Economic Research Science of Science conference. I highly recommend both days, and there are too many talks to list, but some that particularly stood out for me were talks by Caterina Chiopris (diffusion of ideas), Sebastian Hager (performance metrics in science and the allocation of talent), Petra Moser (who becomes a star in science), Jorge Guzman (p-hacking in academic clinical trials đŸ˜¬), and Daniel Yue (the impact of corporate involvement on AI research)

Next was the second day of the NBER digital economics and AI conference. I especially liked the talks by Leon Musolff (sources of market power in web search), Chiara Farronato (platform information provision and consumer search), and Xavier Lambin (simultaneous experiments as a source of algorithmic collusion). Highly recommend the whole day https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jcYUUBc9IG8
Last was a great pair of talks by Lukas B. Freund (the origins and implications of coworker complementarities) and Philipp GrĂ¼bener (firm dynamics and earnings risk) at the NBER conference on the labor market https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9gvjIBAxC9A
