#AcademicRunPlaylist - 5/15/25

An Egyptian goose coming in for a landing on the Thames, sparkling in the late afternoon sun. Two Egyptian geese watch from the near shore, with a few green plants to their right.

I had a stimulating day discussing the future of valuations thanks to Simon Weaver and the WBCSD – World Business Council for Sustainable Development, and while strolling about London afterwards I was able to listen to some talks for my #AcademicRunPlaylist!

First was a thought-provoking talk by Kit (Christopher) Opie on primate mating systems at UCL Anthropology https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=O-q1jVOwvlg

Next was a great panel on the role of interoperability in antitrust at the GW Competition & Innovation Lab with Isabella Lorenzoni, John Newman, Andrea Gadotti, and Giuseppe Colangelo https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DhcfDLSCtXc

Last was a fantastic discussion with Lina Khan on her legacy at the FTC and the role of antitrust in preserving a fair and democratic society/economy at the Stigler Center for the Study of the Economy and the State. Khan is one of the foremost antitrust figures of our time, and as always she provides essential insight into this area. Highly recommend https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zPfeKI6FfkE
