It's always fun to melt things, and afterwards I listened to talks for my #AcademicRunPlaylist!

First was the European Trade Union Institute (ETUI) future of work conference. There's a ton here, and I particularly liked the opening plenary of day 2 on regulating AI and algorithmic management with Marta Otto, Luca Ratti, and Michele Molè, as well as the closing session on digitalization and bargaining power with Ignacio González Vázquez, Anna Milanez, and Michael Silberman

Next was an interesting talk by Clement Fung on ML-based approaches for industrial control systems security at the Carnegie Mellon University Software and Societal Systems Department https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rnqSJA2Lx5c

Next was a great talk by Sébastien Gambs on ethics washing in machine learning at Toronto Metropolitan University https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bMFSY1AE8lk

Last was the first day of the National Bureau of Economic Research digital economics and AI meeting, with standout talks by Kelsey Moran (costs of EHR non-interoperability) and Joel Waldfogel (LLMs and the quantity and quality of books) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0dElaurAGN4
